5 Stoner Movies You Need to Watch

When you’re high up in the sky of your couch, any film could practically be a stoner movie. Spongebob marathon? “Eh, look at the yellow submarine. It has legs!” Nothing could be less amusing. Even a 20-hour BBC earth documentary could be worth your while. But the greatest stoner movies give you more than that. It makes you crack up till dawn even when you see it a hundred times. Here are some of the greatest stoner movies you would not want to miss.

The Big Lebowski (1998)

Probably the best stoner movie ever made in the history of stoner movies that up to this day, it’s still at the top of Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Stoner Movies of All Time.” There’s nothing better than to see the best performance of Jeff Bridges as “The Dude'' while sleeping in the smokes out of your bong; letting your mind wander into the depths of your imagination. This classic film will give you plenty of outlandish dream sequences to fuel your fantasies.

Dazed and Confused (1993)

While we are on the subject of classic films, you should not miss the first-ever acclaimed stoner movie Dazed and Confused. It tells about the exploits of 70’s high schoolers spending their last day of school getting high and partying their hearts out in the pool and following it up with a keg party making them forget themselves and be liberated from their inhibitions. Regarded as “a smart piece of filmmaking” by critics at emipreonline.com, you’ll surely want to go back to the ’70s where cigars, weed, and sex is the hype of the day.

Knocked Up (2007)

Seth Rogen’s movie equivalent of The 40-Year Old Virgin would truly daze you into confusion with the series of non-rationality events of life. It would knock you over your seat after you’ve been hammered enough to endure the scariest facts of life reflected in a comedic sketch directed by no other less than Judd Apatow.

Interstellar (2014)

Watching Matthew McConnaughey dive into the unknown universe of space to find another Earth to live on is the best way to turn your room into the black abyss and exercise your acrobatic hallucinations as you float unhindered inside your own orbit. Take a few rips of your freeze pipe bong, and you’ll surely experience the loneliness, fear, and wonder of being in no man’s space. It will be a trip you’ll never even want to wake up from.

Booksmart (2019)

Jumping a couple and a half decades later after Dazed and Confused, Olivia Wilde captures the rowdy and confusing life of high school teenagers again in her movie Booksmart. The exciting adventure of two high school overachievers that decided to go rogue, after they’ve found out their irresponsible burnout classmates got to top colleges too even after breaking too many rules in school. They set out to experience everything they’ve missed out on and got to puke on someone else while being wasted, hallucinated after eating spiked strawberries and enjoyed the thrill of the other side of life.

There you go, get ready to fly and get high while enjoying these movies and forgetting what is life in this short moment of bliss.
