MEDIA APPEARANCE: David Ehrlich's IndieWire Critics Survey on July 9, 2018

Notable and notorious IndieWire film critic David Ehrlich recently put out a social media call for film critic peers to join a weekly survey to discuss movie topics, answer questions, and highlight their work.  Representing Every Movie Has a Lesson, I, along with over 60 other emerging and established film critics including some of my fellow Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle members, accepted the invitation to participate.  I'm honored by the opportunity, and I hope my responses are chosen each week.

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: What is the best biographical documentary ever made?

The responses have been grouped alphabetically by film title, from The Act of Killing to Winnebago Man. Digging in, you will find me on page 2 giving my adamant love to Life, Animated.  For those of you who follow my page and know the kinds of films I have stumped for over the years, especially documentaries, that title should ring a bell.  I consider it required viewing for all Disney lovers and the perfect living embodiment of my website's niche.  Second place would have gone to Won't You Be My Neighbor? or, even better, the tiny Irish gem A Doctor's Sword.
